When Brian and Sarah Kirkell saw the protest outside the American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP) Conference in Washington DC they shared their story of how they came to protect their son's genital integrity, and educate their daughter about genital autonomy too. #AAP15 #GenitalMutilation #GenitalIntegrity #AAPExperience #HumanRights #GenitalAutonomy #BritShalom

I care about the way we make decisions, especially those related to sexuality. Circumcision is a very difficult decision given the battling perspectives that leave no clear answer. This episode is intended to start the discussion of circumcision by describing how it is typically performed, which means with infant males.

Pediatrician Alexandre Rotta describes viewing the circumcision of a baby boy during his early medical training and what he's learned about this issue since meeting activists protesting the American Academy of Pediatrics conventions. Warning: There is a brief scene with audio of a baby boy being genitally mutilated, one minute into the interview.
